Nepenthes ampullaria grow short squat pitchers that like higher humidity. The pitchers will be purple in color, giving them the name ‘Black Miracle.’ Available in 3.5″ pots.
Care Instructions
This Nepenthes wants some bright light, but no direct sunlight. A bright windowsill or terrarium will work great.
Use only rainwater, distilled water, water from a Reverse Osmosis System, or water with TDS (total dissolved solids) of 75 or less. You can buy a TDS tester in the Supplies section of our website. You never want a Nepenthes to dry out, so it’s best to watch the water levels or use a shallow tray underneath.
Does well in a mix of organic peat moss (75%) to perlite (25%) or just Long Fiber Sphagnum Moss. Don’t use potting soil or commercially grown peat moss which may contain fertilizers.
Keep this plant in warmer temps with higher humidity.
Nepenthes do not go dormant.
